Story - The World Kindness Movement (WKM)
The formation of the Movement was crystallized at a conference in Tokyo in 1997 when Japan brought together like-minded kindness organizations from around the world. The WKM was later launched in Singapore on 18 November 2000 at the 3rd WKM Conference.
In 2019 it was registered as an NGO under the Swiss law.

How do people in America celebrate?
There are many ways to get involved and spread kindness. At The Be Kind People Project, we believe kindness is a force that goes to the heart of how people respect, love, honor, communicate with and treat one another. We define kindness as intentionally extending good to others. World Kindness Day is an opportunity for children and adults worldwide to make a commitment to intentionally extend good to others in actions and words. Saying a kind word, calling a friend, helping a neighbor, hugging a loved one, and volunteering or making a donation to a non-profit are just a few examples.
